Little sister and our friends took a little trip to India and their lives changed forever. What is it with this country that holds my heart so dearly, and to think that I've never even been there. I guess, like some say, you don't forget your roots.

Tea Party the night away

The month of syawal came and went swiftly with the blink of an eye. But myself and him still haven't thrown a get together eating extravaganza for our friends at our home. And we thought better late than never and we did just that a day after Syawal ended and it was beyond awesome. What we thought was a tea party ended becoming and all nighter party. How we love our family and friends for all they've done and all that they are. Especially mama and sister for all the extra hands. Oh how grateful we are to god for blessing us with these great people and all the love surrounds us.

And I was supposed to be on a strict carbs diet (doctors order). Yeah, that shot to hell. Istanbul's foods spells carbs with capital C!! The food was awesome, so no regrets, worth every bite. Now that we're back, I shall proceed with the diet as instructed. Urm, lets hope so.

Absence of blog post has one sole reason, I've been doing some bloggy-soul-searching. After much thought I've decided to discontinue the daily a year in pictures project. The project has become to much of a chore and have lost its substantial value. But all is not lost, I would still very much like to complete the task I've set out to do. From now on, only photos worthy of my taste would be uploaded.

Our current obsession and fashion must have at the moment are the moccasins. They're the most comfortable thing to cover your feet (apart from the controversial CROCS) AND they're super chic and oh so pretty! If it was up to me, I'd get them in all colors (of course it's not up to me, i've got this annoying thing called conscience). And we spotted pastel mocs for the little ones, how unbelievably adorable are they, super huh? Will do a bit of saving up and get the red Car Shoe during our next trip to the lion city.

Oh how much I love the outcome of this little thing. It's both quirky AND whimsy. Any little bambino would look absolutely yummy playing or sleeping on this quilt that you might wanna eat them by the end of the day :) And like we said previously, and DONT say this out loud but this is His favourite.

This whole line centers on a somewhat vintage-y 70s theme but they've been spruced and designed to make it modern. If we were to live in the 70s era TODAY, I'm pretty sure the quilts would look like these babies :D We used a lot of linen blended cotton with groovy prints but the scooters and vintage reproduction prints made it 'pop' really, they're obviously the main lead in this line :D They are perfect for playmats, travel blankie, and can also be used as pretty wall hanging in those pretty little baby's room. The combination of the fabrics gave it a roughy but softy texture, they're solid and sturdy, and with proper care they'll last a lonnnng time. The line definitely doesn't fit the stereotypical cutesy pink and blue baby's quilt out there in the market, and they're mostly gender neutral. But if you're out looking for something different, one of a kind and not at all common, then these quilts are perfect for you. Had so much fun creating the line and we hope you'd love it as much as we do. Feedbacks are very much welcome for our future betterment. Enjoy!

Reading material of the day. 'Influence' is such a beautifully compiled and published book. Made me evaluate and see the people in my life that truly inspire and influenced me to do what I do and made me become who I am. Maybe who knows with god's will, I might just publish my own design book someday. If that ever happens, the one person that deserves to be in the intro credits would be Chern, for being the first person to believe in me and suggested it in the 1st place.

Darling little Sister and her friends had their first garage sale. They were cute and everything looked pretty. But not everyone is open to the idea of buying used clothes, regardless lightly used or not. That got pretty annoying especially when our clothes were hardly used and if I must say so myself, they're fabulous. What do they think vintage is, they're used and old! But that gave it character. Need to do some tuning and change that mentality now people.

Best Birthday Ever made possible by lovely family and friends. This would exactly be the kind of setting we would've done for our wedding if we could. The biggest thank yousss go to super great little sister who was solely responsible for all the planning and decorations turning the dinner party as pretty as it was, best husband in the world for setting up and all the hard labour :P, dearest mother for all the good good food and last but not least, the best coolest young at heart father in the world for funding and making the night even possible to begin with. We had a total of 4 cakes made by really awesome bakers for the party and wouldn't have had it any other way. Putting my sour pie aside, the rest of the desserts were top notched, my hats off to the 2 bakers, aishah nordin of That Last Slice and, Sharifah Aliyyah of My Little Oven. I slept with a slice of Velvet Rouge on my bedside. Heavenly.

Started on Little Hoppers & Skippers Quilt today and managed to finish the quilt top. yeay me! They turned out even better than i imagined. Stay tuned. I'm well aware that the year in pictures project consist a lot of "domestic" photographs, but what can I say, that's what I do most of the time. We're not very hip and happening people, our life is pretty quiet and mellow and the only loud thing that can be heard in the household is the sound of my voice. :D

Hope to bake another pie tomorrow. A certain lovely people are throwing a super cute dinner party for my birthday. This people made this world indeed a beautiful and happy place to live in.

We purchased and collected loads of home goods including assorted little Laura Ashley teacups during our 2 months stay in Melbourne. Had all stuff shipped to Malaysia only to have me found 2 of these darling teacups broken to pieces. Our heart's broken to million little pieces to see them in this condition. Sorry those transporters were not very kind to you (some people are just simply not very nice), and sorry we never got a chance to know each other, and sorry we won't be having one of those dinner party sessions together.
